Hidden Depth Lockhart Brothers Book 4 edition by Brenda Rothert Contemporary Romance eBooks

I had it all.
Breaking into the entertainment business as a teenager wasn’t easy. I spent years of my childhood traveling, auditioning and hoping my big break would come. And when it did, I rose to a level I never imagined.
Elle Tyler model, singer and actress. I couldn’t go anywhere without security anymore. It was everything I ever wanted and more - fame, fortune and worldwide recognition. At age twenty-four, I was living a dream.
But a single act of violence shattered my fairytale existence. In a matter of seconds, all the goodness in me was ripped to shreds. Overnight, the people around me dropped away, moving on to find the next big thing. I gave up on myself, becoming a woman so dark and forlorn I no longer recognized myself.
But the stranger who saved me that day, Justin Lockhart, never gave up on me. He still saw light through my darkness. And as we grew closer, I started to see it, too. And I also started to see that before that terrible day, maybe I didn’t really have it all. Maybe I was always missing the only thing that really matters.

Honestly I liked this book but I didn't love it like I wanted to. I was so excited for Justin's book but now I feel like I was let down by it.The story of Justin and Elle is good. Their attraction to one another after a tragedy brings them together is heart-warming. Their relationship develops instead of happens instantly.
It was really the OTHER parts of the story that just did not work for me. Spoilers ahead:
Mallory. That part was just ridiculous. It added nothing to the story at all. I feel like the author started to make a secondary story about Mallory and her crazy but decided not to, which resulted in that part of the story just not making any sense in the grand scheme of the book.
Gary Beasley's grand reveal. It was somewhat anticlimactic. The use of the ring was great, but at the same time, a ring like that? How did Justin not realize Elle was even wearing it?
Her taking off without a word was immature and rather disappointing as a reader. Because Elle wasn't a runner and she turned into one.
I don't know, there was just too much wrong for me.

Hidden Depth Lockhart Brothers Book 4 edition by Brenda Rothert Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
Of course the anticipation of the next Lockhart brother book was driving me crazy and the author certainly delivered. Plenty of twists and turns and lots of close family ties helps this woman from the Midwest really relate...only difference was there were 4 girls in my family and I have 3 adult daughters so reading about the guys antics was enjoyable.
This book was so worth the wait!! I am in love with the Lockhart Family and hated to see this book end. Justin and Elle's story was a beautiful one.. I've never read a bad book from Ms. Rothert!! I was lucky enough to receive an advanced reader copy, however they're so fantastic I scoop them up as soon as they are released! Every girl needs a Lockhart brother!!
We've all wanted something or someone we couldn't have, but what we would or wouldn't do to achieve it separates us from the crazies. This is a story about the human spirit and the fact that it can be bent, but never broken. That through tragedy, hope lives and love blooms. The writing is superb and this story is as heart wrenching as it is heart warming. If I had to describe this book in one word...Inspirational!
The book was hurried and it went from the hospital scenes to housekeeping and full blown love in the matter of a few short chapters. This could have been a great book but the author cut it short in too many areas. cookie cutter 167 page book that could easily have been 330 pages if done right.
This was an easy and pretty quick read though the topic was not exactly easy. It was about Elle’s, a mega famous pop-star, journey towards healing and acceptance after being assaulted by a crazy fan. Justin was her knight in shiny armor. Not only did he save her physically, he provided the emotional support as well. There was some drama in the story but off course the couple weathered through it. The author has the right formula to get me hooked and continue reading her books.
In truly love this series!! Getting Justin's story was great, but watching him fall in love was prefect. Elle just makes the story better.
Seeing a gruesome attack with its aftermath is not something you truly get over, but living through it is that much worse. Elle and Justin's story is off the charts, and I'm so glad that the brothers also played a part in this storyline too, which is always great when they are bickering back and forth. This book was a quick, easy full of love story. Congrats to BR on such a great story.
Brenda Rothert's series are one of my favorites! Hidden Depth has a sweet hero and a pop star heroine! I loved so many things about this book , The small town vibe is there when they return to Justin's home town and getting to see the characters from the first books in the series was a plus! Justin was very sweet with Elle and I really enjoyed watching them fall in love! I will say that Elle frustrated me at times , especially towards the end , I dont want to give away the " drama" part of the book , but let's just say I wasnt in agreement with how she handled it. I also felt the end was slightly rushed , another spoiler I dont want to give away but when Justin comes home he finds something out about his past , and although I thought it would be a bigger part of the story it was mostly glanced over. Overall this was a sweet story that I enjoyed reading! 4 stars
